MOTOR VEHICLE LAW

 

Situations are becoming more complex as days pass on. Cities are developing into Metro Cities. Number of vehicles plying in the streets have also dobled many times. In a  society where everybody rund behind  their responsibilities, the possibilities of getting involved in an accident while driving are many fold. After occuring of an accident, the first step wouild be to rush the injured to a nearby hospital, where they could be given first aid and steps could be taken to prevent loss of blood. A timely medical attention alone would save 60% of axident victims. The next step shall be to report thae accident in a nearby Police Station.  THis is now usually done by the Hospital Authorities themselves. The  vehicle(s)  involced in the accident will have to be surrendered to Police for them to make reports after investigation from Motor Vehicle Inspector. After completion of inspection of the vehicle, the vehicle can be brought back to the owner's custody. In the mean time, the criminal case that evolve on account of the occurance of the accident also have to be dealt with.

Later when the victim  filesd a Claim before the Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal, it is most necessary to appear in the case as a Respondent and  subit a Written Statement along with attested copies of Driving Licence, RC Book and Insurance Policy valid as on the date of the accident.
